As I read today’s verses, what comes to mind is scripture about God knowing our hearts, chief among them Jeremiah 17:10: “I the Lord search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve.”
Leviticus 15:12 “ ‘A clay pot that the man touches must be broken, and any wooden article is to be rinsed with water.
With the leper, the skin condition is pretty obvious. With the “unusual bodily discharge” for men (v2), I feel like that is more on the honors system. At least in this day and age, I could see men NOT saying a word (out of fear? embarrassment? spite?), and hoping no one ever knows. But God knows our hearts. Always.
Leviticus 15:13 “ ‘When a man is cleansed from his discharge, he is to count off seven days for his ceremonial cleansing; he must wash his clothes and bathe himself with fresh water, and he will be clean.
Precious Savior, You want a relationship with us. You want us to bring our entire selves to the foot of Your cross, to be honest with You about everything that we have going on, to hold nothing back. You love us completely, fiercely, unconditionally. Help me to give You my whole heart. Always. Amen.
