In the Presence of Christ…. (devo reflection)

Exodus 33:12 Moses said to the Lord, “You have been telling me, ‘Lead these people,’ but you have not let me know whom you will send with me. You have said, ‘I know you by name and you have found favor with me.’

The end of verse 12 brings to mind Isaiah 43:1 “But now, this is what the LORD says— he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.”

Exodus 33:13 If you are pleased with me, teach me your ways so I may know you and continue to find favor with you. Remember that this nation is your people.”

This is the relationship that Jesus wants for us, to know and to be known by Him, to be taught, to find favor, to have rest in the Savior alone. All these things can be found in the Presence of Christ, through a relationship with Christ that is carefully tended and nurtured.

Exodus 33:14 The Lord replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”

Precious Savior, Thank You that You know me by name, that I am Your deeply loved child. Help me to cultivate my relationship with You so that I can learn and find rest in You alone. Help me also to remember that Your love is not some exclusive club. You love all Your children, You want relationship with all Your children. Help me to shine Your light for all to see. Amen.

Exodus 33:15 Then Moses said to him, “If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here.

Have a blessed day.
