Leviticus 13:21 But if, when the priest examines it, there is no white hair in it and it is not more than skin deep and has faded, then the priest is to isolate them for seven days.
While I am already tired of reading what feels like essentially the same thing over and over, I am thankful that the priests are doing their due diligence when it comes to these skin conditions.
Leviticus 13:22 If it is spreading in the skin, the priest shall pronounce them unclean; it is a defiling disease.
There is no “one and done” look. They look. They quarantine for a week if needed so they can check again. They look at the skin, the hair, the tissue around the affected area. It appears that every attempt is made to give the area time to heal if it is “healable.”
Leviticus 13:23 But if the spot is unchanged and has not spread, it is only a scar from the boil, and the priest shall pronounce them clean.
Precious Savior, There is usually so much going on just below the surface. Thank You for the reminder to dig deeper, to look again, to unpack what’s happening, more than just the appearance, so that a fair and level-headed assessment may be made. Help me to take that approach in my daily life as well. Amen.
Leviticus 13:24-25 “When someone has a burn on their skin and a reddish-white or white spot appears in the raw flesh of the burn, the priest is to examine the spot, and if the hair in it has turned white, and it appears to be more than skin deep, it is a defiling disease that has broken out in the burn. The priest shall pronounce them unclean; it is a defiling skin disease.
