Don’t worry about anything…. (devo reflection)

Exodus 38:5 They cast bronze rings to hold the poles for the four corners of the bronze grating.

I googled “What does the Bible say about intentionality?” and the first verse that popped up was Phil 4:6, “Do not be anxious about anything….” As I continue to search for meaning and purpose in the minute details of the tabernacle, as I strive to circumvent the ever-present anxiety hum within me, the fact that that verse has popped up again feels important.

Exodus 38:6 They made the poles of acacia wood and overlaid them with bronze.

While I typically prefer the NIV translation, the New Living Translation is really speaking to my heart today: “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Lord, Let it be so.

Exodus 38:7 They inserted the poles into the rings so they would be on the sides of the altar for carrying it. They made it hollow, out of boards.

Precious Savior, Thank You for understanding where I am and what I need, for the reminder to slow down, to be present, to be still, to come to You in praise and thanksgiving and to present all my cares to You. Thank You for loving me and for whispering to my heart. Thank You, Jesus. Amen.

Exodus 38:8 They made the bronze basin and its bronze stand from the mirrors of the women who served at the entrance to the tent of meeting.

Have a blessed day.
