With us. Always…. (devo reflection)

John 14:1 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in Me.”
Lord, In a world that often leaves me feeling anxious and afraid, these verses strike a deep cord, and well they might, for in them, You are trying to prepare Your disciples for Your death, for the time when they would be without Your physical presence. Thank You that I can take comfort in those same words. Thank You that Your word is so transcendent that it still applies today.
John 14:16 “And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Advocate to help you and be with you forever….”
Lord, Thank You for Your tremendous love for Your people, a love so great that You want Your disciples, then and now, to understand that even if You are not here physically, we are not alone. Your word is with us. Your commandments are with us. And Your Advocate, the Holy Spirit, is with us. Always. We are not alone. We do not have to be afraid. Thank You, Jesus.
John 14:23 Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves Me will obey My teaching. My Father will love them, and We will come to them and make Our home with them.”
Lord, Thank You for this day, for this scripture, for making Your home with me. Thank You for providing for me, for making a place for me, and for returning some day to bring me home. Thank You for Your loving care. I am so grateful. Draw me closer. Amen.
John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
Have a blessed day.
