Genesis 45:21 So the sons of Israel did this. Joseph gave them carts, as Pharaoh had commanded, and he also gave them provisions for their journey.
I was talking with my oldest last night about the fact that a lot of times in life, it’s not just what you know but also who you know that proves helpful. Today’s scripture is a prime example of this: The brothers are loaded down with food and gifts because of Joseph, the favored brother.
Genesis 45:22 To each of them he gave new clothing, but to Benjamin he gave three hundred shekels of silver and five sets of clothes.
Life can be like that. God covers us with His strength, His peace, His love and healing. Always. It’s there, but if we want to reap the benefits, we have to remember Who we know: Jesus. We have access to His strength, peace, love, and healing if we consciously tap into it. Sometimes that is harder than others.
Genesis 45:23 And this is what he sent to his father: ten donkeys loaded with the best things of Egypt, and ten female donkeys loaded with grain and bread and other provisions for his journey.
Precious Savior, Thank You for Your strength, peace, love and healing; that they are always available to me. Forgive me when I get so wound up in life that I forget Who I know: You. Help me, always, to wrap myself in Your love and strength. Help me to share it with others. Help me, Jesus. Amen.
Genesis 45:24 Then he sent his brothers away, and as they were leaving he said to them, “Don’t quarrel on the way!”
Have a blessed day.
