The power of noticing…. (devo reflection)

Exodus 27:9-10 “Make a courtyard for the tabernacle. The south side shall be a hundred cubits long and is to have curtains of finely twisted linen, with twenty posts and twenty bronze bases and with silver hooks and bands on the posts.

I have tried to get better at noticing this Lenten season–noticing all the tiny little “God winks” around me, the little signs that God is with me, that He will never leave me nor forsake me. Unsurprisingly, when I look for those signs, I see them everywhere.

Exodus 27:11 The north side shall also be a hundred cubits long and is to have curtains, with twenty posts and twenty bronze bases and with silver hooks and bands on the posts.

Most recently I have been noticing a patch of daffodils at the end of my driveway. I noticed first the green shoots, poking hopefully up through the soil. Then I noticed the bulbous flower, preparing to open. Instead of bursting open all at once, I noticed that each petal sprang out until they were all free. Beautiful.

Exodus 27:12 “The west end of the courtyard shall be fifty cubits wide and have curtains, with ten posts and ten bases.

Precious Savior, Thank You for the power of noticing, for the reminder that You are with me, You are all around me, if I only take the time to look, to see. Thank You for the power of hope, the power of renewal, the power of perseverance. Thank You, Jesus. Amen.

Exodus 27:13 On the east end, toward the sunrise, the courtyard shall also be fifty cubits wide.

Have a blessed day.
