That’s God…. (devo reflection)

Daniel 3:24a Then King Nebuchadnezzar leaped to his feet in amazement and asked his advisers, “Weren’t there three men that we tied up and threw into the fire?”

Much of this chapter has found Nebuchadnezzar enraged, yet today’s scripture finds him in amazement. He cannot believe what he is seeing. Three men were bound and thrown in the fire, yet there are “four men walking around in the fire, unbound and unharmed, and the fourth looks like a son of the gods.” That’s God. Literally.

Daniel 3:24b …They replied, “Certainly, Your Majesty.”

God turned Nebuchadnezzar’s rage into amazement. God turned Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego’s faith into enough. God showed up. God showed out. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, who were willing to praise God even if He chose not to save them, have so many reasons to praise Him now.

Daniel 3:25 He said, “Look! I see four men walking around in the fire, unbound and unharmed, and the fourth looks like a son of the gods.”

Precious Savior, I know that You can and will and do use all things for our good and Your glory. Forgive me when I doubt and fear. Help me to have the faith of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. Help me to praise You always, no matter my circumstances. Amen.

Daniel 3:26 Nebuchadnezzar then approached the opening of the blazing furnace and shouted, “Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, servants of the Most High God, come out! Come here!”

Have a blessed day.
