1 Cor 3:16 Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?
Let’s talk about that inner critic that we all have. The one that has something to say about every mistake and misstep you make. Mine is particularly caustic and mean. If she talked to anyone else the way she talks to me, there’s no way I’d sit by and let it happen. But for some reason, I never stop that voice when it’s smack-talking me. Jesus, Help me.
Matt 10:20 For it is not you who will be speaking–it will be the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.
It occurred to me, though, that I get to choose whose voice I hear, whose voice I listen to. And “the same power that rose Jesus from the grave lives in me.” THAT’S the voice I want to hear, the voice of love and truth, not the voice of condemnation. Jesus, Help me.
2 Tim 1:7 For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.
Lord, Thank You for this day and for the reminder that Your power is within me, Your voice is the one I need to hear. Thank You for sending the Holy Spirit in truth and love. Help me to treat myself with the same kindness that I try to show to others. Help me to shine Your light. Amen.
John 16:13 But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth….
Have a blessed day.
