Psalm 100:1 Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth.
Today’s psalm is serving as a much needed reminder of what I need to be doing but am not: Choosing Joy. I have reminders everywhere in my life to choose joy, yet this time of year, exhaustion, frustration, and annoyance seem to win out instead. Father, forgive me.
Psalm 100:2 Worship the LORD with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs.
I have so much to be joyful for in this life. Psalm 100:3 is a perfect encapsulation of the root of my joy: God. Jesus. My Creator and Redeemer. If that were all I had, it would be enough to cause me to rejoice forever. But that’s just the root of my joy, the anchor. So much more has blossomed from that root, so many other reasons to be joyful. Thank You, Jesus.
Psalm 100:3 Know that the LORD is God. It is He who made us, and we are His….
Lord, Thank You for this day and this scripture. Thank You for the reminder of all the many reasons for joy in my life. Help me to be mindful daily to be joyful to You. Help me to choose joy as my default. Draw me closer. Amen.
Psalm 100:4 Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name.
