James 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.
Lord, As I begin this 4th day of the new year, I want to be wise and discerning. I don’t want to waste time on things that are not eternally important, but I also don’t want to miss opportunities to serve Your people. Help me to live a life that honors You. Help me to avoid the pitfalls of this world and to be wise to the matters of Your heart. Help me to be Your hands and feet.
Malachi 3:7 Yet from the days of your fathers, you have turned away from My statutes and have not kept them. Return to Me, and I will return to you,” says the LORD of Hosts. But you ask, “How can we return?”
Lord, I want only to honor You, yet every day I fail in a million tiny ways. Help me to focus on the times I do get it right instead of all the missteps. Help me to keep trying, keep seeking, keep searching. Help me to understand that I honor You in the effort as much as in the outcome. Help me never to lose sight of my goal of honoring You.
James 4:8 Come near to God and He will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double minded.
Lord, Thank You for this day and for the meditations of my heart. Thank You for the renewed focus of this year. Thank You for Your willingness and ability to be in close relationship with me. Help me to sit at Your feet and listen each morning. Help me to draw close to You each day. Help me to honor You with each thought, word, action, breath. Draw me closer. Amen.
James 2:13 …Mercy triumphs over judgement.
Have a blessed day.
