Genesis 17:13 Whether born in your household or bought with your money, they must be circumcised. My covenant in your flesh is to be an everlasting covenant.
Once again Jeremiah 29:11 comes to mind as I read today’s verses: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future.” Like me, Abraham doubts a lot and often. But God, precious Savior that He is, continues to reassure Abraham that just because His timing is different, He still has big plans for him.
Genesis 17:14 Any uncircumcised male, who has not been circumcised in the flesh, will be cut off from his people; he has broken my covenant.”
I truly think God can use us anywhere if we allow. I’m still pretty Type-A in what *I* think the plan should be, which leads to lots of doubts, but when I force myself to breath, to remember who God is and who He is to me, to remember His promises in my life, I know that He has a plan that is greater than anything I could hope or imagine, and I just have to trust Him, that He is present, that He is in control, that He loves me, that He will never leave me nor forsake me, that he is working all things to my good and His glory.
Genesis 17:15 God also said to Abraham, “As for Sarai your wife, you are no longer to call her Sarai; her name will be Sarah.
Precious Savior, Forgive me when I doubt and fret, when I worry and stew. That’s human nature, but it’s not good for me. Help me, in those times, to remember who You are and who You are to me, to remember Your promises in my life. Help me to trust You. Always. Amen.
Genesis 17:16 I will bless her and will surely give you a son by her. I will bless her so that she will be the mother of nations; kings of peoples will come from her.”
Have a blessed day.
