I am not a very patient person, and I have officially reached the point in Genesis where I’d like to just skip ahead, maybe out of this book entirely, which is probably bad as we aren’t even halfway through the 50 chapters of Genesis yet.
Genesis 24:2 He said to the senior servant in his household, the one in charge of all that he had, “Put your hand under my thigh.
So today I am trying to stop and breathe, refocus myself on God and His word. He called me to begin at the beginning of His word. He called me to go through line by line. There is something for me here. If nothing else, learning the patience to breathe and sit and pray and listen. Jesus, Help me.
Genesis 24:3 I want you to swear by the Lord, the God of heaven and the God of earth, that you will not get a wife for my son from the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I am living,
Precious Savior, I know You called me back to Your word. You know how antsy I can get. Help me to be present in this moment, present in this scripture. Help me to breathe, to read, to ponder, to seek You in every word and every line. Thank You for sitting with me, this morning and every morning. Help me to show up and be present. Amen.
Genesis 24:4 but will go to my country and my own relatives and get a wife for my son Isaac.”
