Mightier than the breakers of the sea…. (devo reflection)

Psalm 93:3a The seas have lifted up, LORD, the seas have lifted up their voice….

I love going to the beach, the sound of the waves pounding the shore. I love, absolutely love, watching the sun rise over the ocean. I feel closer to God as I sit on the deck with a cup of coffee and watch as His world comes to life around me. Sunrise at the beach, for me, is a holy experience.

Psalm 93:3b …the seas have lifted up their pounding waves.

The ocean, the beach, the waves and sand, for me it is all a wonderful analogy for God: His sovereignty and power, His vastness, the inability for me to know every single part, the fact that I learn something new, see something different every time I search His boundless depths. The LORD is infinite, powerful, uncontainable, beautiful, mysterious, miraculous, amazing.

Psalm 93:4a Mightier than the thunder of the great waters, mightier than the breakers of the sea….

Lord, Thank You for this day and this scripture. Thank You for the beautiful analogy I see between You and the ocean. Thank You for the way I feel closer to You on its sandy shores. Thank You for who You are and who You are to me. I love You, Lord, my strength (Ps18:1). Draw me closer. Amen.

Psalm 93:4b …the LORD on high is mighty.

Have a blessed day.
