1 Corinthians 4:3 I care very little if I am judged by you or by any human court; indeed, I do not even judge myself.
Humans are really quick to judge others. My caustic inner critic seems to support that we are really quick to judge and criticize ourselves, too.
1 Corinthians 4:4 My conscience is clear, but that does not make me innocent. It is the Lord who judges me.
But Paul reminds us that judgement is reserved for God alone. Truly, it is an incredible act of pride for humans to stand in judgment of others. We are instructed to edify each other, to build each other up, not tear each other down.
1 Corinthians 4:5a Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait until the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of the heart.
Lord, The world we live in makes judgment of others second nature. Thank You that this world is not our home. Help us to combat the inclination to judge and instead to encourage each other and build each other up. Help us to bring You glory in all things. Amen.
1 Corinthians 4:5b At that time each will receive their praise from God.
Have a blessed day.
