Deut 34:1 Then Moses climbed Mount Nebo….There the LORD showed him the whole land….
Moses made some missteps in his life. He didn’t do everything perfectly. He didn’t always do exactly as God commanded. He messed up pretty badly a time or two. But when he died, he was remembered in Deut 34:5 as the servant of the LORD.
Deut 34:4 Then the LORD said to him, “This is the land I promised on oath the Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob…. I have let you see it with your eyes, but you will not cross over into it.”
That brings me much hope because when I look back on my own life, it is riddled with mistakes and missteps and the best of intentions often gone awry. I want so much to glorify the LORD, to bring Him praise and glory, yet I often fail in the attempt.
Deut 34:5 And Moses the servant of the LORD died there in Moab, as the LORD said.
Lord, Thank You for this day, for this scripture, for Your fierce love of me, even though I am so thoroughly human. Thank You that You know my heart, that You know my thoughts, that You can look at my life and see what I was trying to do, glorify You, even when it didn’t quite work out. Thank You that You can use ALL things for my good and Your glory. Draw me closer. Amen.
Deut 34:7 Moses was a hundred and twenty years old when he died, yet his eyes were not weak nor his strength gone.
Have a blessed day.
