Genesis 1:28 God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”
Today the hubs and I celebrate 27 years of marriage. I feel like we’re doing ok on the “Be fruitful and multiply” part. We have two amazing sons. The hubs taught for 29 years before retiring and has poured so much of himself into scouting and hiking, helping others along the way. I’m on year 28, contemplating retirement and what the next phase of “being fruitful” may look like for me.
Genesis 1:29 Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.
In the grand scheme of “God’s plan,” one of my favorite stories is how Rob and I met, a story which always makes me smile. Ask me sometime and I’ll gladly tell you. I truly feel like this life–the hubs, the kids, the teaching career, are a part of God’s bigger design for me, and I am truly thankful.
Genesis 1:30 And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky and all the creatures that move along the ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for food.” And it was so.
Precious Savior, You know I love a good plan, and Your plans are THE BEST. Thank You–for this world and all its creation, for this life and all its fullness, for this marriage that the hubs and I celebrate today and all the ways we have seen Your goodness as we walk hand-in-hand through this life. Thank You. Amen.
Genesis 1:31 God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day.

First of all, happy anniversary! Yes, God has blessed you beyond measure with a beautiful family and a wonderful career. And, as a byproduct of this life you lead, you have blessed us by listening and by writing and by sharing. In the season, where there is so much loss just waste of us, I am reminded that everything we have and every step we take are gifts from God. He is in the good and the bad working through us so that his full plan can unfold.. May the peace of God encircle us and fill us
