Micah 7:8a Do not gloat over me, my enemy! Though I have fallen, I will rise.
I saw a picture on Facebook yesterday. It’s one I’ve seen before, but it’s been a while, and I had forgotten. It says, “You will never look into the eyes of someone God doesn’t love.” That person plucking your last nerve? God loves them. That person doing the polar opposite of everything you believe in? God loves them, too. That person who is destitute and on the street? Yep, God loves them as well.
Micah 7:8b Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light.
It reminds me of a billboard I saw years ago: “Just love everyone. I’ll sort them out later. ~God” I serve a God of love. Hate has no place in Him. And He calls me to love others, even when it’s hard, even when they are plucking my last nerve, even when I’d rather not. He asks others to do the same–love me when it’s hard, when I’m difficult and prickly and unloveable.
Micah 7:9a Because I have sinned against him, I will bear the Lord’s wrath, until he pleads my case and upholds my cause.
Precious Savior, Thank You that I will never look into the eyes of someone you don’t love. Thank You that You call me to love everyone and leave the judgment to You. Thank You that a lot of times loving others is really easy. Help me to do better about leading with love when someone is plucking my nerves or being otherwise unloveable. Help me to treat others the way I’d like to be treated when I feel my lowest. Amen.
Micah 7:9b He will bring me out into the light; I will see his righteousness.
Have a blessed day.
