Deut 2:7a The LORD your God has blessed you in all the work of your hands.
One of the choir members at my church sings an absolutely gorgeous rendition of the song “I Shall Not Want.” The words of the song are deeply powerful. “From the love of my own comfort, From the fear of having nothing, From a life of worldly passions, Deliver me O God.”
Deut 2:7b He has watched over your journey through the vast wilderness.
The Israelites wandered in the wilderness for 40 years, and yet, God was always with them and they lacked nothing. “From the fear of death or trial…” These are uncertain times. There is so much fear, so many unknowns. And yet, God IS with us, even now, even in this. We do not walk alone. We lack nothing. “Deliver me, O God.”
Deut 2:7c These forty years the LORD your God has been with you….
Lord, Thank You for this day, for this scripture, for this reminder that You are here with us, that You are watching over us, that because we have You, we lack nothing. Help us to live that truth, Lord. Help us to shine Your light. Deliver us, O God. Draw us closer. Amen.
Deut 2:7d …and you have not lacked anything.
Have a blessed day.
