Luke 7:16a They were all filled with awe and praised God.
Verse 16a is a full devotional within itself. “They were filled with awe and praised God.” Full stop. If I lived my life according to this philosophy, it would be a very good life indeed.
Luke 7:16b “A great prophet has appeared among us,” they said.
Ironically, I am the only thing stopping myself from being filled with awe and praising God based solely on all of the ways I see Him and His blessings in each day. God’s goodness, blessing, and provision are everywhere. Life’s misery and humanity are, too. But if I train myself to look for God, to be filled with awe and praise for Him, I would be praising Him all day every day.
Luke 7:16c “God has come to help his people.”
Precious Savior, Thank You for Your goodness. Thank You that You are so present in my life, this life that I can be filled with awe and praise You all day every day. Thank You that You are present in the misery, humanity, and reality of life as well. Help me to see You, to praise You, even as I work to be Your hands and feet in this world. Amen.
Luke 7:17 This news about Jesus spread throughout Judea and the surrounding country.
Have a blessed day.
