An inexpressible and glorious joy…. (devo reflection)

1 Peter 1:3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead….

This is a chapter of praise and joy. We have hope through Christ, we have His great inheritance, and this hope and inheritance are ours because of His great mercy.

1 Peter 1:4-5 …and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.

Our inheritance is kept safe for us  in heaven. And though we have to face trials in this life, we can rejoice because this world is not our home. Christ is our eternal inheritance.

1 Peter 1:6 In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials.

Lord, I pray to You the words of 1 Peter 1:8…. Though I have not seen You, I see Your grace and glory in a thousand ways everyday and I love You. Though I am not in Your physical presence, I know You are with me and love me fiercely. I believe in You and am filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy. Thank You for who You are and who You are to me. Thank You for the joy that can only come from You. Amen.

1 Peter 1:8 Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy….

Have a blessed day.
