My morning reading, prayer, and reflection time is incredibly important to my relationship with my Savior. It is a time where I try to listen for (and listen to) His still soft voice, to lean into Him, to discern His will. What began many years ago as a Lenten practice has evolved into an essential part of my morning.
Eph 3:17b-18 …And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ….
I also know that being a part of a community of believers is vital to my faith. Not only is being together important, but praying for each other, supporting each other, and listening to each other are also important. I truly believe that sharing our stories of Christ’s presence in our lives is a vital part of understanding Him and His love.
Eph 3:19 …and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
Lord, Thank You for this day, for the ability to know You more and to understand You a better, for the ability to lean into You as I study Your word, for the ability to shine Your light as I tell of Your presence in my life. Thank You for the ability to see more of You as I listen to the stories of others, seeing You at work in those around me. Draw us all closer, Lord, to You and to each other. Amen.
Eph 3:21 …to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
