Jude 1:20 But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit….
Verses 20 and 21 remind us how to keep ourselves in God’s love as we wait for His mercy to bring us eternal life—by building ourselves up in faith and by praying in the Holy Spirit.
Jude 1:21 …keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.
Verses 21 and 22 remind us that we are to be merciful to those who doubt (I believe; help my unbelief) and to do what we can to save others through mercy, sometimes mixed with fear. The last part of this one is a head-scratcher for sure.
Jude 1:22 Be merciful to those who doubt;
Lord, Thank You for always speaking to my heart. Thank You for those times when I understand so clearly what You are asking of me. In those times when Your words are not as clear to me, help me to always choose love. Amen.
Jude 1:23 …save others by snatching them from the fire; to others show mercy, mixed with fear—hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh.
